Esquimalt Lagoon

This week I have gone to a local hot spot in Victoria: the Esquimalt Lagoon!

This popular spot is very busy for a reason, it is a long stretch of beach that offers a beautiful walk throughout all seasons of the year. I personally enjoy this beach because it is quick to get to if you want to spend a little time in the open ocean air (which I think everyone should try and get at least once a week on the west coast!!!!).

There are 3 “different” beaches at this location. One is the main sandy beach that is facing towards downtown and Port Angeles, Washington. The other side looks towards the Royal Roads University that has the Hatley Castle on the property (where Xmen was filmed!!!!!). The third side is past the main strip towards Metchosin, it’s a little private compared to the rest of the lagoon and it allows for dogs to be off lease (which is a huge plus!!!!).

In the summer, there are usually food trucks that come to the beach. Unfortunately because of COVID, they have stopped doing that but they would come every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, usually 3 or more of them would park on the side of the road.

If you click the picture below, it takes you to a website that has updates on whether the food trucks will be working this summer so keep your eyes peeled!
