This week in teach, we learned about coding for children. I found this wonderful resource about coding that helps show how to do it to help your children modify Minecraft and other applications.
This is a website that has a collection of “how to” videos for parents or educators with children.
This video shows how Scratch Jr can be used with your children. It’s so important to allow them to discover what they are into and inquire deeply about that. I think the stereotype that children should on be allowed to inquire about academics without the exploration of interests is appalling. If a child says they are into video games, they should be allowed to explore the subject and coding can be the best way to do this.
Another great resource is this Minecraft coding box. There are so many useful videos and tools to utilize online when it comes to coding. I hope to integrate this into my teachings in the future.
